2nd Level of Study, 1st Year, Winter Semester
Students will acquire knowledge in the field of application and programming of signal microcontrollers, using the TMS320F28379D as an example, particularly for the control of power electronic converters and electric drives. They will gain an understanding of the operation of microcontrollers in general, as well as their peripherals. Students will be able to develop software designs and firmware that ensure proper microcontroller configuration and control of educational laboratory setups, such as RGB LEDs, piezoelectric acoustic devices, switched-mode converters, DC motors equipped with current and position sensors, and stepper motor control systems. During the course, students will also learn how to solve practical problems associated with software development and its integration with hardware, while using various laboratory instruments. They will thus develop the ability to integrate knowledge acquired in multiple courses, particularly in the areas of power electronics, controlled electric drives, programming, and algorithm design. Furthermore, they will gain comprehensive knowledge that will support their studies in subsequent specialized courses related to control systems and the design of electrical engineering systems, while helping them better understand interdisciplinary relationships among technical subjects.
