1st Level of Study, 3rd Year, Summer Semester

Learning Outcomes

Students will learn to use the tools of the EPLAN software suite, which is among the most widely used software packages for the preparation of electrical engineering documentation in industrial practice.

Brief Course Outline

  1. Creation of a project structure (new project, template, page and subpage organization, etc.), project backup and restoration.
  2. Introduction to the drawing environment, basic drawing of connections, terminals, interruptions, and related elements.
  3. Insertion, modification, and labeling of symbols, creation of custom symbols, and symbol variants.
  4. Use of the Data Portal, assignment and creation of articles (components).
  5. Creation and insertion of macros, page macros.
  6. Mounting layout, 2D placement of devices in a control cabinet.
  7. 3D design environment, placement of components in a control cabinet.
  8. Project error checking and error correction.
  9. Creation and modification of project reports and documentation, including title pages, tables of contents, device lists, terminal strip lists, cable lists, and terminal connection plans.
  10. Export of manufacturing data, generation of labels, and connection marking.
  11. Preparation of documentation for a real engineering assignment (complete project).
